This simple teaching
Is worth a thousand Buddhas:
Relax and let go
Rest in the space between thoughts
And let things be as they are
This simple teaching
Is worth a thousand Buddhas:
Relax and let go
Rest in the space between thoughts
And let things be as they are
Resting in stillness
Watching as thoughts come and go
I am face to face
With the great eternal soul
Whose mystery is silence
A flowing river
Keeps its water fresh and clear
Such is the great way
Without the changing seasons
The world would lose its luster
The shorebird takes flight
Soaring above the ocean
It never looks back
The journey is far too long
To worry about the past
Peace in each moment
Contentment in every breath
What more could I want?
Some chase after fame and wealth
I have everything I need
There are vast oceans
In a single drop of rain
Look closely and see
Infinite worlds within worlds
Such is the nature of mind
Thoughts pass through the mind
Like clouds drifting through the sky
They come and they go
When you watch them disappear
Only the blue sky remains
An autumn leaf falls
Dancing gently on a breeze
With no place to go
It gives itself to the wind
And rests wherever it lands
A meadowlark sits
On the branch near my window
And as I wish for
A world free from suffering
The meadowlark simply sings
